Moves were busted and fun was had by all. The music was bumping and the sausages were hot.
Usually the hall is a relatively quiet and orderly place reserved for formal occasions such as school assembly, but not on this night.
On Thursday 13th June, the school hall here at Matipo was transformed into the hottest nightclub in town! Starting out with a Junior Disco, then a Senior one afterwards.
It was hard to keep track of all the action amongst the dance offs, limbo competitions, conga lines left and right and general good old-fashioned boogieing. Even a few parents were spotted cutting loose…way to go parents!
The event was a fundraiser organised by Te Puawaitanga o Te Wairua Whānau Crew, in conjunction with the Matariki School Crew.
In addition to the entry fee students were asked to bring a canned donation to help fill up Care Waitakere’s pantry, which will assist many other families in the community. Well done whānau. Ka mau te wehi!
