Book Week

As Dr Seuss said,  “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”  This week we got to learn and know new things and we certainly went places…

Book Week Activities

Across the school we have had book inspired craft activities, favourite book sharing, book mark making, a wildly successful Teddy Bears Picnic (with other soft toy invited guests), book huts, Readers Theatre (featuring Mr Osborn and Matua Tony as Ugly Fish and Mr Simpson and Whaea Nicola as Shiny fish) and visits from our local librarians.

Book Parade

The book parade was amazing! The time and effort put into some clever costuming was a great start to our week. Congratulations to everyone who participated and congratulations to our winners: Dobby the House Elf, Shaun The Sheep, the Lollipop Fairy, the White Queen, the Ender Dragon, Bob The Builder and the Woolly Mammoth.

Book Fair

Thank you to all who have supported Matipo School by attending and purchasing books at our book fair. Ka pai to the students and whānau who bought books …and they were read by the very next day!
