Our pupils competed against the best from eight other schools in the 60m, 100m, 400m, long jump, high jump, shotput and discus. We had a lot to live up to given that we’d won it for the last 3 years in a row. This year we only managed 3rd but that is still a great achievement against eight other schools. All our competitors gave all that they could and made Matipo proud. Stand out achiever though was Jonah Palota-Kopa.

The mural was started last year and the circles represent the different cultures who have come and enriched New Zealand culture. Before being part of the Sculpture trail, it was also displayed at the Abundance Gallery.

We have 83 pre-enrolments and we are totally full.

We have given 2 years notice that this was likely, with notices at the child care and kindergartens in Te Atatu, and on the school website.

We simply have no more physical room or teaching resources for any more children.

 

The 2013 and 2014 roll is still open and if your child is a Term 4 starter you might want to consider them starting in Term 1 next year if you really want them to join us at Matipo.

 

We are sorry to have to take this action, but have given fair warning.
