I began teaching at Matipo in 2014 and I continue to enjoy working with such a great bunch of adults and children here. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Auckland with a B.A. in Political Science and Social Anthropology. In 2013 I completed my Graduate Diploma in teaching and prior to that worked as a Qualitative Research Specialist for a number of years both here and in Melbourne. Before committing to a career change I fulfilled a long held dream of doing a solo backpacking adventure which saw me, among other things, WWOOFing in Bali, house sitting on the southern coast of Greece and working in a restaurant in Istanbul. This experience solidified for me how much I enjoy the company of children and I knew I had to take the leap into teaching; something I’d had at the back of my mind for many years. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with friends, swimming in the sea, pottering in the garden and listening to Radio New Zealand.
