Newsletter #16 June 2nd

It’s been an exciting time lately with two great enjoyable musical experiences the week before last and then last week a sensational performance from Big T, a Te Atatu boy, now singing all across Australia and a 2016 contestant from The X Factor. The kids loved it! Tomorrow we have 50 kids off to the Royal NZ Ballet performance of the ‘Wizard of Oz’.

Warm Welcome This Week To
Jack Simpson and Toby Gibbons. We wish you a long and enjoyable time here at Matipo Primary.

Happy Birthday This Week To

Spare pants are needed for kids of all ages due to slipping in the mud. This is a timely reminder to please pack a spare change of clothes in your child’s school bag during these wet months.

Paper for Trees
Our paper recycling out the back gate has seen 40 native trees delivered from ‘Paper 4 Trees’ with sponsorship provided by The Trusts Community Foundation and Signature Plants Nursery.

Book Fair
After many years of absence, we are going to have a Book Fair on the week of 20th – 24th June. Books will be on display in the Computer Room and the Book Fair will be open between 8-9am and 3-4pm each day (cash and cheque sales only). We will hold a late night on Thursday between 4-7.30pm with eftpos facilities, and will be open all day on Friday with eftpos facilities also. All profits made will go to the school library.

Calling All Old Mobile Phones to Help Sustainable Coastlines
After $2.5 million donated to the Starship Foundation from the sale of unwanted old mobile phones it is time for a new multi award winning NZ charity – Sustainable Coastline to benefit from this scheme. It would be great if you could rummage around your home and bring in any unwanted mobile phones. Phones collected help the environment and also our school gain valuable rewards. Please drop any unwanted mobile phones you may have in the collection box in the reception area at school.

Enrolment for 2017 at Te Atatu Intermediate
This year we would like to have Peninsula enrolments completed by 30th June. This is so we know how many spaces are left for non-Peninsula students. Enrolments can be faxed, scanned, posted or delivered to Te Atatu Intermediate. Fax: 09 834 5375. Postal Address: 8 Harbour View Rd, Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland 0610.
