Matipo Primary began Term 4 with a memorial assembly for victims of the Pacific Tsunami in Northern Tonga, Samoa and American Samoa. Just over 20% of our school are from the Pacific with the largest number of Samoan origin. The school has a number of initiatives underway to raise money for the Tsunami Relief Fund.

On Friday 16th October the School Council are running a $2 Sausage Sizzle at lunchtime.
On Friday night, at our performances at the Te Atatu Village Spring Festival (outside the Union Parish Church) we will have Koha buckets.

On Wednesday 21st October, a benefit concert by a variety of adult performers involving strings, guitar and vocals will be held at School at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 including a glass of wine/ juice.

Additionally, the Congregational Church of Samoa at 472 Te Atatu Road is collecting items to go to Samoa. In particular blankets, kitchen items, tools and nails are requested.
